Botox /dysport/ newtox

Wrinkles are the first and foremost sign of skin aging. Modern cosmetology is doing its best to combat thesemanifestations of aging and offers us a vast number of both techniques and injections.

One of the most efficient methods is the correction of deep wrinkles, fine wrinkles, as well as face lifting using botulinumtoxin injections. Botulinum toxin is gentle on the facial muscles, by relaxing them.

Botulinum toxin is injected into a muscle and slow movement it to smoothen the wrinkles. After all, what is a wrinkle? Itis a crease of the skin that is formed in response to the motor activity of the face muscles.

There are several botulinum toxin preparations in cosmetology with different active ingredient concentrations and levels of impact.

We only use proven Botox/Dysport/Newtox products in our clinic:

These are three different manufacturers of botulinum toxin preparations with  the same mechanism of action, i.e. muscle relaxation, however, the effect may differ slightly, e.g. in terms of duration of effect, due to different components.

MICHELLE AESTOX is a certified specialist who will select the right product for you to achieve the best result.

Botox/Dysport/Newtox applications:

  • Frontal areas (forehead),
  • Outer corners of the eyes (crow’s feet),
  • Glabellar area (the so-called “anger wrinkles”),
  • Nasal area (bunny lines),
  • Area above the upper lip and around the mouth,
  • Chin area (Chin dimples),
  • Masters muscle (jaw cunching),
  • Neck.

How it works

Injections are administered into the skin areas pre-defined in consultation with a specialist after a thorough examination of the patient. Botulinum toxin is injected into the facial muscles with the finest needles. The agent blocks nerve impulses sent by effectors from reaching muscles and sweat glands, leading to slower muscle movement.

The effect is most noticeable after two weeks, when the skin starts rebuilding, so to say. The forced lengthy muscle rest smoothens the wrinkles, however they never vanish for good from Botox alone. You can make them hardly visible though after a course of several procedures, 3–4 months apart each.

When does the effect become visible and how long does it last?

After a few days (3 to 10, on average), the skin will smooth out, giving you a younger look. The effect of Botox lasts for about 3–6 months depending on various factors, including the amount of dose administered. In order to achieve a prolonged effect, repeated injections are recommended every 3–4 months. If you stop the treatment, the wrinkles will gradually become the same as before.

What to avoid before a Botox injection?

Avoid any alcohol the day before the procedure, as it increases the risk of bruising. We also recommend you to stop taking any blood thinners is able.

Are there any side effects?

The injector will thoroughly examine your face, select the dose and injection technique and answer any questions before the procedure. They will also give you an informed consent form, which indicates all the risks and complications associated with the treatment.

We recommend that you remain upright for a while after the procedure (about 4 hours). We do not recommend visiting a massage therapist, washing floors and buying shoes (as fitting them is usually associated with bending). You should not massage the injection site. For the best effect, avoid baths and saunas for 24-28 hours. Use regenerating and moisturizing creams, serums and masks in your skin care routine.

How is Botox useful for the face?

Botox is injected to relax the muscles and smoothen the wrinkles, making your face look youthful; sometimes it can be used to treat headaches (migraines).
